Ms. Debbe Yeager
Chief Executive Officer, Triple Win International

Ms.Yeager was most recently Director of Global Quality and 6-Sigma Ford Motor Company where she co-lead Ford Motor Company’s "Way Forward" quality strategy for the Americas.

Under her leadership Ford’s global 6-Sigma delivered over $1 billion in cost reductions, while achieving significant increase in quality performance. Ms. Yeager achieved COO and Executive Vice President endorsement to use 6-Sigma to develop a business plan to close competitive gaps. She managed project delivery of over 1,900 Black Belts and 234 Master Black Belts globally. Her team developed the standard metrics and governance process deployed worldwide. She also deployed Lean/6-Sigma/Kaizen Process at key business locations and lead Executive Steering Committee for Consumer Driven 6-Sigma.

While At Ford, Ms. Yeager also help other key positions such as Director Global Core Quality Analysis and Strategy, and earned the reputation for delivering in all areas of the company.

Ms. Yeager was also Chair of Ford Motor Company Professional Women's Network, Board Member Sojourner Foundation and liaison to the Juran Center for Leadership in Quality, University of Minnesota. She has a master's degree in Manufacturing Systems Engineering as well as separate degrees in Chemistry, Computer Science and Mathematics.

Mr. Edward G Martin
Founder, Triple Win International

Founder and former CEO of Triple Win International Martin is also a leading global marketing executive highly recognized for his performance and achievement in Fortune 500 companies including: Kellogg’s, Coca-Cola, Citibank, and Ford Motor Company. His expertise covers markets in The Americas, Europe, Africa, and Asia.

Over the last several years he has expanded his marketing and business talents to include partnering with top scientists and political leaders to tackle some of the world’s greatest health issues such as potable water, malaria, HIV/AIDS and global health care distribution to disadvantaged communities in Africa.

He has been elected to the advisory boards of organizations such as Medical Institute, Health Store Foundation, Health People S. Bronx and International Business Advisory Board of EMU. He is also an associate to the Harvard AIDS Prevention Project and has been an advisor to the Ambassador of Uganda.


Board Members

Patricia Funderburk Ware

Patricia Funderburk Ware is President and Chief Executive Officer of Shiloh International Productions, Inc. a company providing marketing and technical assistance services in the areas of media/entertainment, health advocacy, and community and entrepreneurial development. Her diverse career background and personal experiences equip her with a wealth of experiences and contacts internationally in each of the targeted areas.

Mrs. Ware served as a political appointee in two U.S. Presidential Administrations; President and CEO of an international cultural foundation; a stage and film actress; and an arts, health and community economic development administrator. She has directed local, state and federal government agencies; and founded and directed local, state and national non-profit organizations selected as national models.

Mrs. Ware testifies before the U.S. Congress and state legislatures on critical policy issues; facilitates training, provides consultation and appears as a speaker and has partnerships with communities, agencies and individuals throughout the U.S. and internationally,

She has been appointed as a director or in an advisory capacity with government agencies, community-based and professional organizations; and has been interviewed on a number of media outlets. She publishes articles; and is featured in national and international educational videos.

She is the recipient of numerous professional and service awards including The Order of the Long Leaf Pine, North Carolina's highest community service award; the National Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy Honoree Award, and the Twentieth Year Outstanding Alumni Award from her undergraduate alma mater, Hampton University.

Mrs. Ware and her husband Dr. Bradley Ware, a Family Practice physician, regularly speak as a team about HIV/AIDS and teen pregnancy prevention and family related issues. Their daughter and son-in-law are both executives in the recording industry.

Mrs. Ware specializes in connecting her enormous array of contacts to people, agencies and corporations with products and/or services needed by those in her network.


Dr. Mary Galinski
Senior Scientist Emory and head of Malaria Foundation

Dr. Mary Galinski is an Associate Professor at Emory University School of Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases & the Rollins School of Public Health, Department of Global Health, and she heads a malaria research program at the Emory Vaccine Center at Yerkes ( www.vaccines.emory.edu ).

As Director of Emory's newly established International Center for Malaria Research & Education (ICMRE), she leads malaria research and education programs, with scientific, public health and socioeconomic perspectives taken into account.

In 1992, Dr. Galinski founded the Malaria Foundation International (MFI; www.malaria.org ), which she continues to lead today as President.

Over the past 15 years she has worked as both an academic malaria research scientist and advocate for the disease through MFI programs and by supporting various new global initiatives that support the fight against malaria.

The Malaria Foundation International has been instrumental in bringing attention on malaria from a state of 'silence' in the public eye to a growing level of international awareness of this major global health and socioeconomic problem and a sense of urgency to tackle it forcefully.

The MFI with Dr. Galinski's leadership was awarded the Media Tenor Special Award for 2006.

While gaining attention and support through the promotion of some immediate solutions to prevent or treat malaria, the MFI and ICMRE are developing educational messages for long term solutions that include necessary research for vaccines and medical treatments, training and leadership development, and addressing the importance of entrepreneurship and economic development hand-in-hand with fighting malaria.

Dr. Galinski is an internationally recognized leader as a scientist and for her efforts to raise awareness of the enormity of the malaria burden worldwide, and advocate for the increase of expanded research resources, interdisciplinary collaborative linkages, and the development and implementation of effective solutions to this major global health problem.

Dr. Galinski also emphasizes the need to train the next generation of malaria experts, and encourage the participation of educators, business and health leaders worldwide in this effort. Towards these aims, she encourages new passionate leaders of all ages and backgrounds to rise up and help tackle different aspects of the malaria problem, whether scientific, medical, social, educational, financial, political, or pertaining to sustainable development issues, etc.

The MFI led the first major global advocacy campaigns against malaria in the late 1990s and developed the first press kit leading to worldwide media attention. Dr. Galinski now serves as an advisor and participant for other campaigns, including "Hedge Funds vs. Malaria", the "I CAN Erase Malaria Campaign" (ICEM), and the "Roll Back Malaria Partnership" among others. The MFI is the organizing sponsor of "Student Leaders Against Malaria" (SLAM), "Joy for Kids", "Nickels for Nets" and three outreach programs "Malaria Business Leadership Conference" (MBLC), "Malaria Awards Ceremony" (MAC), and the "End Malaria – Blue Ribbon Campaign".


Ms. Shari Novick

Ms. Novick is a creative business strategist with 15+ years of branding, marketing, media, design and communications experience. The driver of RSSR's leadership team, she spent the early years of her career at the Company. She rejoined the firm in 2004 to lead its largest-ever global client engagement with Procter & Gamble to support CEO A.G. Lafley's mandate to make design part of the company's DNA and led a team of consultants and recruiters covering assignments in the US, Asia, Europe and Latin America. Since April 2004, RSSR has placed over 25 design leaders, including Brand Identity and Product Innovation Design Managers, as well as Regional Managing Directors of Design, at P&G in the US, Asia, Latin America and Europe and advised on design organization structure, career planning and recruitment strategy. Other accounts Shari personally leads include Microsoft, for which she has been recruiting user experience evangelists, Whirlpool, and Hewlett-Packard, with whom she has been working on a major design organization initiative. She has also advised on design and brand talent, skills and leadership assessment; organization development; recruitment training; and conducted agency/consulting firm searches. Her past experience includes launching London-based Wolff Olins, one of the world's most influential, strategic and creative branding firms, in the US. As a member of the management team, she recruited key talent, secured new business, oversaw consumer research, developed brand strategies and led account teams and for such clients as E*TRADE, MasterCard, the Museum of Modern Art, Shutterfly and Sun Microsystems.

Before that, Shari was a Vice President at Siegel & Gale where her clients included Citibank, J.P. Morgan and Silicon Graphics. Previously, as Regional Manager of I.D. Magazine, she developed print and interactive advertising, promotions, direct mail, sponsorships and events for Hewlett-Packard, Microsoft, Nike, Sony and Thomson Consumer Electronics. In addition, Shari commissioned a noted Spanish artist to create an "Influence the influencers" ad campaign for Absolut Vodka for the magazine, secured a high profile venue and spearheaded the launch of the first-ever I.D. Magazine public exhibition of its Annual Design Review winners. An EFFIE awards judge for 3 years, she served on the Board of the Financial Communications Society and was Co-Chair of one of their Portfolio Awards, where she produced this 500+ person event honoring excellence in financial advertising. To continuously expand her vast network of top industry talent, she is an active member of the IAA (International Advertising Association), AMA (American Marketing Association) and the ACNY (Ad Club of New York), and attends key international events such as FIAP (Iberoamerican Advertising Awards) in Buenos Aires.

Shari's views on industry trends have been published in AdWeek, Brand Marketing and The Wall Street Journal. Due to her Latin background, she is practically a native speaker of Spanish and her international worldview comes from a broad range of professional as well as personal experiences.


Jim Gwaltney
President J Gwaltney and Assoc.

Mr. Gwaltney has 35 years in numerous Senior Level Executive positions within Ford Motor Company in sales, marketing, operations and finance disciplines.

He is an Executive Leader with Operational and Strategic Experience at all levels and across all functions in one of the top 10 corporations in the world. He has a proven track record leading marketing, sales, financial subsidiaries, and Operating Divisions. Fast-track 35 year career, successfully managing leading brands for a global corporation, overseeing multibillion-dollar operating budgets, and leading teams through change and growth.

Mr. Gwaltney has a natural talent for selecting the right people, building teams and motivating and empowering managers to achieve exceptional results such as improved brand awareness and increased market share and record profits, having a vision, developing a strategy and selecting the right people to implement.


Professor Zhouying Jin

Professor Zhouying Jin is a Senior Researcher and Professor at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the Director of the Center for Technology Innovation and Strategy Studies (CTISS) of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. She also is president and founder for the Beijing Academy of Soft Technology, and since 2004, President of Future 500 China.

A graduate of the Chinese University of Science and Technology, Dr. Jin has been a researcher at the Institute of Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences; Deputy Chief Engineer of Changchun Electric Industrial Administration; and Vice secretary-general of China enterprise Directors (Managers) Association, State Economic Committee of China.

She has been a visiting professor at Case Western Reserve University and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln; Senior Research Fellow, Institute For The Future; and a Special researcher at the Institute of Science and Technology policy of Japan. Jin is currently a Guest Professor Tsinghua University in Beijing and Hohai University in Nanjing. She also holds the title of Research Fellow at the World Business Academy, is a Planning Committee Member of the Millennium Project and Co-chair of the China node of the United Nations University of Americas council.

She has more than 100 published monographs, theses and research reports to her credit.


Barton Lee

Mr. Barton Lee is the founder and managing partner of East Marketing Research (EMR). Mr. Lee holds a degree in sociology from Sun Yat-Sen University.

In 1992 he founded East Marketing Research. Since then he has developed EMR into one of the premier marketing research companies in China. The international client list includes P&G, Uniliver, Colgate, Kodak, Ford, HP, LG and Panasonic.

East Marketing Research has offices in Guangzhou, Beijing, Chengdu, Shanghai, Chicago and Vancouver.

Mr. Lee has been a featured speaker on marketing research at Dong Business College, Ji Nan, Tsinghua, Sun Yat-Sen and Fu Dan Universities. He has published articles on the various aspects of marketing research in China in Quirk' Marketing Research, AMA Marketing New and Win Weekly.

Mr. Lee is an expert in the China market. He specializes in the growing automobile and FMCG markets. Mr. Lee is a member of ESOMAR, AMA and PMRS.


Matt Sullivan

Matt is an experienced marketing and consulting executive with such Fortune 100 companies as Microsoft, KelloggÕs Company, Procter & Gamble, and J. P. Morgan.

Before forming Brand Positioning Systems he garnered industry wide awards including multiple New Product of the Year awards, Harvey Communications awards and a Clio award for effective, breakthrough advertising. He has extensive experience directing and designing research initiatives, particularly in consumer packaged goods and high tech.

Cal Martin

A 30 year plus veteran of the Market Research/Information Industry, where he had been in executive roles on both the client and supplier side. Included in this is 15 plus years as an executive and owner of The Gallup Organization. While at Gallup, Cal was responsible for numerous client relationships with Fortune 100 companies and was responsible for corporate sales and management of the company's largest division. In addition he was responsible for a number of large Social-Research/Information Projects


Ambassador Edith Grace Ssempala
Ambassador Uganda

A Global Leader in politics and humanitarian efforts, Amb. Ssempala was Ambassador of Nordic countries prior to 10 years of being ambassador of Uganda to the US.

She is currently ambassador of Uganda to Ethiopia and Uganda's Representative to World Bank and International Monetary Fund and Permanent Representative to the African Union.

She was instrumental in organizing High Level exchanges between Uganda and USA including, but not limited to, visit of President Bill Clinton, President George W. Bush and official and working visits of President Yoweri Museveni.

Ambassador Ssempala is credited with successful campaign for the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) and the United States President's Emergency Relief Fund for HIV/AIDS.

She serves on the Advisory Board for Center for Strategic and International Studies Africa Program, The Discovery Channel Global Education partnership and is a member of Executive Committee of the Partnership to cut Hunger and Poverty in Africa.


Dr David Victor

Dr. Victor is Director of International Business Programs for the College of Business. He teaches a range of International Business Courses in the new EMU International Business Degree, including the "Doing Business In..." seminar series.

He is also a full professor in the Department of Management where he teaches International Management, Managing World Business Communication, Business Communication and Management Responsibility and Ethics.

His research interests are in the areas of conflict management, international differences in organizational structure, cross-cultural business communication and the relationship between headquarters and subsidiaries in the multinational corporation.


Dr. Ted Baehr

Dr. Baehr is the founder and Publisher of Movieguide® and Chairman of the Christian Film & Television Commission, as well as a noted critic, educator, lecturer, and media pundit.

TV & Film Production: Dr. Baehr was president of the organization that produced The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe, boasting 37 million viewers and winning an Emmy Award. Dr. Baehr also produced hundreds of programs for PBS television.

CFTVC: Dr. Baehr is the Chairman of the Christian Film & Television Commission, a non-profit organization committed to educating the entertainment industry and the general public of the impact that mass media has on its audiences. The CFTVC is the only active liaison between studio executives and the general public for issues of family entertainment and faith.

Movieguide ®: Dr. Baehr is the Publisher of Movieguide: A Family Guide to Movies and Entertainment. Released biweekly, Movieguide offers in-depth analyses of current movies from a biblical perspective. Dr. Baehr also writes a syndicated column for 29 publications nationwide.

Television Appearances: Dr. Baehr has been a featured guest on Oprah, Hannity and Colmes, CNN, ABC, Fox News, MSNBC, and Entertainment Tonight.

Ryan Goldsberry
Director, Business Development Honeywell Turbo Technologies

Ryan Goldsberry is the Director of Strategy and Business Development for Honeywell Transportation Systems. In this role, he is responsible for defining and executing Honeywell's acquisition strategies in this industry. Prior to joining Honeywell, Ryan was Director of North American Marketing for Visteon Corporation. Mr. Goldsberry has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University, a Master in Manufacturing from the University of Michigan, and a Master of Business Administration from Stanford University.


Dr. Sonya Anderson
Education Program Director, The Oprah Winfrey Foundations

Coming from a long line of educators, Dr. Sonya Anderson has been in the field of education since she graduated from Yale University in 1992. As part of the Mississippi Teacher Corps, Dr. Anderson spent 2 years teaching in rural Mississippi where she taught high school French and history.

After her time as a teacher, she served as a Program Associate with the Ford Foundation in New York City where she supported grantmaking in the fields of service learning, higher education reform, and international studies.

Following her tenure at the Ford Foundation, Dr. Anderson worked as a Senior Associate at Creative Associates International in Washington, DC where she co-directed the implementation of education development projects in West Africa and the Caribbean. Dr. Anderson joined the Oprah Winfrey Foundation in July 2005 as the Education Program Director, and she currently oversees the development of the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls in South Africa as well as a number of other domestic and international projects. Dr. Anderson holds an undergraduate degree in economics and political science from Yale University, and a masters and doctorate degree in education from Harvard University.


Henry E. Cole

Henry Cole has provided corporate and technical leadership for innovative US and international development programs spanning 50 countries and 35 years.

His work focuses on the health program planning and policy but also encompasses environment, energy and futurist programs in both the public and commercial sectors and with multilateral donor organizations.

Most recently Mr. Cole has been instrumental in corporate leadership and global program development in four companies: Medical Security, Safe Blood International, Karishma Software, and CAMRIS International. With these, his work engages a broad spectrum of new programs and entities, including: corporate preparedness for medical crisis; systems, practices and knowledge based decisions for safe blood; manufacture and markets for rapid medical diagnostics; electronic medical records, telemedicine and second opinion applications; communications analysis technology for corporate markets and government programs; multinational corporation contributions to local worker and community healthcare; networks and systems for children's hospitals; teleradiology and pathology for remote locations; and natural resource and geological assessments for regional development.

Mr. Cole was for 25 years President and Officer of the Futures Group International and Futures Holding and co founder of company's worldwide health and development consulting practices with over 600 clients and including subsidiaries Futures Europe, North Star Health, Futures Health Corps and Futures Global Resources.

Earlier he served as founding Economist for energy conservation programs at Hittman Associates; Director of Population and of Developing Country Energy Studies at the Center for Advanced Studies of General Electric; Assistant Professor of Economics at Tulane University; and intern staff at the US President's Counsel of Economic Advisors.

Mr. Cole has served on the boards of numerous organizations including the Safe Blood for India and the Kid Save International foundations He has worked in over 28 countries worldwide, with in-depth, in-country experience in Egypt (residency), Turkey, Ghana, Cameroon (residency), Kenya, Sudan, Sahelian Africa, the Philippines, Indonesia and India.

Mr. Cole has degrees from Yale University and The John Hopkins University, and speaks excellent French.


David Miller
CEO and Chairman of the Board of BioSource Therapeutics, and inventor of Nutraplete

One of the worlds leading AIDS activists, David is consulted by global leaders in politics, industry, entertainment and faith based organizations on best ways to combat the pandemic. David is an epidemiologist who studied at St. Johns University. He is the founder and Chairman of Galea Life Sciences which has developed the life saving product (Nutraplete) for Chronic AIDS and Cancer wasting.

He is also currently the regional coordinator for the National Association of People with AIDS and AIDSWatch Campaign, the largest lobbying effort focused on HIV in North America.

He serves as the Co-Chair of the Cornell/Columbia AIDS Clinical Trial Group Community Advisory Board (ACTG CAB) and has reviewed hundreds of protocols for the National Institute of Allergies and Infectious Diseases (NIAID).

David is also a member of the AIDSAction Council, The National Minority AIDS Council, and Global Network of People with AIDS.He is also a member of the NYC HIV Planning Counsel.

David is a frequent speaker at the Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS (PACHA) and scientific conferences.

David is on the Board of Directors of the AIDS Institute and Director of HIV/AIDS Treatment Education at Health People.

David has been involved in the preparation of several historically important white papers that have lead to the streamlining of the fast track approval process at the Center of Biologic Evaluation and Research (CBER) and Center for Drug Evaluation Research (CDER).


P.J. Colbeck

Patrick J. Colbeck

P.J. Colbeck is the author of the Small Business Pocket Consultant Series and founder of Perspective Shifts, LLC. He has more than 20 years of experience spanning multiple industries including Aerospace, Defense, Pharmaceuticals, Telecom, Automotive, Information Technology, and Financial Services. The business processes that he addressed in these industries include accounting, human resources, product development, purchasing, manufacturing, sales, marketing, and information technology. This broad exposure to the inner workings of most businesses has yielded significant insights into how businesses operate. This experience base, coupled with his education in engineering methodologies, provides a unique perspective on how to design businesses to perform more effectively.

Mr. Colbeck has served as a regular lecturer at Space Camp in Huntsville, AL and has designed several systems currently in operation aboard the International Space Station. Mr. Colbeck now applies his passion for advanced engineering to improving the performance of businesses through information technology. He has been certified by Microsoft as a Small Business Specialist and is the winner of the 2002 Microsoft Business Value Challenge for Professional Services Automation Solutions. Mr. Colbeck is a graduate of the University of Michigan with B.S. and M.S. degrees in Aerospace Engineering and also a graduate of the International Space University in Strasbourg, France.


 

Kristie Fitzwater Mikus

Kristie Mikus has been involved in International Development for over 10 years. Her development work began in West Africa, where, as a graduate student, she managed a democratic decentralization program aimed at capacity building for local government practitioners. Though formally trained in Economics and Finance, Ms. Mikus has spent most of her professional career working on HIV/AIDS. She co-founded and co-chaired the HIV/AIDS Public-Private Partnership Technical Working Group within the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR). She has also served as the core team leader for four of the fifteen PEPFAR focus countries – Haiti, Guyana, Tanzania, and South Africa, the largest recipient of USG HIV/AIDS funding. Prior to joining the State Department in 2004, Ms. Mikus was an International Trade Specialist at the U.S. Department of Commerce, where she provided technical assistance to bilateral and regional partners in healthcare systems strengthening. Ms. Mikus received the highest civil servant merit award at the Department of Commerce, the Bronze Medal, for her work on a Congressionally mandated study on pharmaceutical price controls and their impact on pricing, research and development, and innovation. She is currently the Southern Africa Coordinator in the Office of the Director of U.S. Foreign Assistance at the State Department in Washington, D.C. She received a Masters of Public Administration degree with a focus on Finance and International Development from the University of Delaware in 2002 and a Bachelors degree in Business and Economics from Washington College in 2000. She is married to her high school sweetheart and they live in Silver Spring, MD.
